Child Custody And Parenting Time FAQs

I’m concerned that my soon-to-be-former spouse’s significant income will influence the court during custody discussions. Is it possible that “money talks” during these situations?

Every decision is ideally made in “the best interests of the child.” If the parties can’t come to their own custody conclusions via mediation or negotiations, issues could wind up litigated in ways that are not constructive. We advocate aggressively for the fair share of child access that you deserve and that will work out best for a child’s future.

I’m suspicious my former spouse is alienating my child against me. Do I have any legal recourse if that turns out to be true?

Absolutely. Our firm can petition the court for a hearing on the subject, and we will get to the bottom of what’s happened. Parental alienation has no place in the pre- and post-divorce processes and the rearing of children. If a child access modification or enforcement is necessary to generate confidence in a new custody routine, we are willing to consider taking that leap.

Do you assist with scheduling of parenting time according to a noncustodial parent’s availability?

We do. We’re glad to examine personal and professional schedules with an eye toward establishing a routine that translates to stability in a child’s eyes – something that he or she can look forward to. This schedule would include a regimen for visitation on alternating weekends, vacations and holidays, for example.

My out-of-state job seeking may require that I leave the state of Massachusetts with my child. Can your lawyers help me request a parental relocation and revise parenting time arrangements?

We can. Post-judgment modifications and enforcements are two of the firm’s many family law practice strengths. We have been routinely tasked with requesting and contesting moves to leave the state — or the U.S., for that matter — with a child.

I have custody needs that must be discussed as soon as possible. How do I go about contacting you to schedule a consultation?
